Recommended use:. Not for unlimited use - in food max. 50 mg per day. Use sparingly because of its laxative effect.
The senna family consists of two kinds, both small shrubs that may grow to 1 metre tall. The leaves grow in pairs, and its yellow flowers turn into 7 cm legume fruits.
Senna leaves have a strong laxative effective - for limited ingestion only.
Senna jam
- 750 g prunes
- 750 g figs
- App. 2 l water
- 10 g powdered senna leaves/pods
- 750 g syrup
- 750 g honey
Soak prunes and figs in water for 24 hours. Blend thoroughly and add syrup and honey. Bring to the boil and add the senna powder. If you want, you can add a preservative to increase the shelf life of the jam.
Max 5 tsp of jam per day.
