Wormwood makes an excellent tea and is a treasured flavouring agent in beer and bitters
- Bitter taste
- Used for making herbal tea
- Used as a flavouring agent in beer and bitters
Recommended use:. ½-1 tsp per cup of boiling water. Let brew for 5-10 minutes and strain before serving. Drink 1-3 cups per day. Use sparingly.
Wormwood is used for tea. Its bitter taste makes it suitable for beers, schnapps and bitters, and spirits like absint and vermouth.
The bitterness of the herb is also the reason for its widespread used in gardens - the strong smell of wormwood may drive away insects and vermin. Leaves and flower buds are particularly aromatic; only one twig will result in a pleasantly bitter taste.
