Five herbs that boost your immune system

by: Trine Kastbjerg Gode råd Naturen

We love nature and the treasure trove of herbs it has to offer. Our history is based on herbs that we continue to use and combine in new and innovative ways. This article presents five herbs that you may want to take a closer look at if you want to boost your immune system.

Echinacea

Echinacea is a North-American plant with bright pink petals, also known as coneflower. In recent years, it has become popular as a garden plant. Oil may be extracted from its flower seeds.

Echinacea supports the immune system.

Our product palette includes echinacea powder and Echinacea Complex droplets, and the powdered herb is an ingredient in 8416 Mavekomfort te, Urte-pensil products, VirCil, Propolis spray and Kiss Me.

Astragalus

Astragalus is a perennial plant native to Eastern Asia. It has antioxidant properties and is capable of protecting cells and tissue against oxidative stress. In addition, it has adaptogen qualities that support mental and physical wellbeing. Last, but not least, astragalus supports a normal immune system.

Products containing astragalus include Astragalus Complex, VirCil and Super B-Complex.

Olive leaves

Olive trees are abundant in Mediterranean countries. Olives and the oils extracted from them are treasured staples in most kitchens. However, olive leaves are also useful, and they are ingredients in some of our dietary supplements.

Olivir, Kiss Me and VirCil all contain olive leaves.

Olive leaves contribute to the normal function of your immune system. In addition, the leaves also support the digestive function and help to maintain a normal blood circulation and pressure.

Cat's Claw

Cat's claw, uña de gato and life-giving vine of Peru are three names used to describe the same tropical vine of South America. The plant has claw-like thorns that are used for clinging to the tree on which it grows – hence its name.

The part used for dietary supplements is the inner bark. The Natur-Drogeriet product palette includes powdered cat’s claw and cat’s claw capsules. The bark is also used as one of the ingredients of Vitaflex.

Cat’s claw contributes to the immune system and helps to maintain flexible joints.

Rosehip

Rosa canina is the Latin term for rosehip, one of the most common wild roses of Northern Europe. The bush carries the type of fruit used in our products. However, we import rosehip from Chile where growth conditions are the best possible.

Rosehip contributes to the normal function of the immune system and helps to maintain normal and flexible joints at a daily intake of at least 2.5 g rosehip powder twice a day.

We carry rosehip capsules, rosehip shells and rosehip powder. In addition, we include rosehip in some of our tea blends, including 8403 Balance te, 8426 Firetyve-syv te, 8430 Base te, Husets urte-te and Marcussens Universalte.
