Kraprod 100 g

Product no.: 4034,100

Recommended use:. Not for human consumption. Herbal colouring: orange/reddish brown.

Until the invention of synthetic colours in the middle of the 19th century, herbs were used for dyeing textiles. Common madder was popular because of its exquistie red colour.

Common madder contains two kinds of dyes, red and yellow. You get a bright red colour by keeping the dye temperature below 65oC for 2-3 hours. If the temperature exceeds 65oC, the colour will be more orange as the yellow dye is activated at higher temperatures.

Ingredients

Common madder (Rubia tinctorum)
