Recommended use:. For human consumption - limited use.
Glauber's salt owes its name to German chemist and apothecary Johann Rudolph Glauber (1604-1670). He was the first person to produce the decahydrate of sodium sulfate. We know it as white mirabilite formed from the evaporation of sea water.
Glauber's salt may be used for human consumption in limited amounts. As an food additive it is called E 514. Sodium sulfates are used for - among other things - the adjustment of salt concentrations in beverages.
