The erect and graceful ginkgo tree is also called maidenhair tree. Originally, it grew outside temples in China, and to Buddhists, it is a holy tree. With its app. 200,000 million years, it is the oldest type of tree, and a single ginkgo tree may be several hundred years old.
Leaves are heart-shaped and of the most wonderful green colour in Spring and Summer, chaning to bright yellow in Autumn.
Ground ginkgo leaves may be used for herbal tea.
