These small flakes of inactive yeast may be used as a spice and flavouring agent in sauces, bread, porridge, pies, tofu marinades etc. The cheese-like flavour of the flakes makes them excellent for dishes that require cheese, e.g., a delicious cheese sauce for pizzas, pastas, lasagna and pies.
Organic yeast flakes are made from dried, inactive yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) grown from beet molasses. Flakes are rich in protein and have a wonderful, cheese-like taste. Yeast flakes are often called the vegan's cheese flavour.
Not for use as a leavening agent. No fermentation in your digestive system. No cereals used for the production of the yeast flakes. The yeast is based on molasses as the source of sugar.
Store in a cool, dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
NOTE! The volume of this product may vary from one batch to another. Thus, 1 tbs weighs between 2 and 5 g. When a bottle of yeast flakes is shaken, e.g., during transportation, yeast flakes will compress. Thus, the size of the bottle cannot be reduced as the yeast flakes almost fill it when bottled.
