Dill is an annual herb in the celery family. It is related to fennel and parsley, and its leaves resemble those of fennel. Dild is a common sight in herbal gardens, and you can use leaves, flowers as well as seeds for culinary purposes - fresh or dried. Dried dill seeds have a fresh, aromatic scent, and their taste is delicately spicy.

Dill seeds are used for vinegar and bitters and for pickling beets, gherkins, cucumbers and pumpkins. Dill seeds may be crushed and used as a spice in sauces and soups.
